Create chatbot
Step-by-step guide to creating your first AI chatbot in Grivo.
Last updated: April 2026
Overview
Creating a chatbot in Grivo takes about 2 minutes. You pick a training source (your website URL, PDFs, or docs), configure basic settings, and publish. The chatbot starts answering questions immediately.
Step by step
1. Choose a training source
After logging in, navigate to Chatbots → Create New. You'll be asked to choose a training source:
- Website URL - Enter your homepage URL. Grivo crawls all linked pages automatically. Best for most use cases. See Train on website.
- PDF upload - Upload one or more PDF files. Great for product manuals, help docs, or knowledge bases. See Train on PDF.
- Text / documentation - Paste text content directly. Useful for FAQs, policies, or specific content. See Train on docs.
You can combine multiple sources. For example, train on your website URL and upload additional PDFs for content that isn't on your site.
2. Configure settings
After choosing your training source, configure these settings:
- Chatbot name - The name shown in the chat widget header (e.g., "Grivo Support")
- Welcome message - The first message visitors see when they open the widget
- Brand color - Matches the widget accent to your brand
- Lead capture - Toggle whether to collect visitor name/email before starting chat
All settings can be changed later. See Customize for the full list.
3. Publish your chatbot
Click Create Chatbot. Grivo processes your training data (usually 1–3 minutes) and generates a script tag you can embed on your website.
See Embed on website for platform-specific installation guides.
